loaner (subject to availability) while your instrument is in our shop.
All others may rent a loaner for $10 while your instrument is in our shop.
Musical Instrument Repair Depot - for out of town musicians
We operate an excellent off-site low cost musical instrument repair center that can bring your quality
musical instrument back to playable condition for a fraction of the cost of a
standard music store repair bill. Our certified technicians will make your
repaired musical instrument
"like-new". If you, we will even rebuild a quality musical instrument to
make it better than it was when it was new. (recommendation: don't
bother to repair an instrument that was never a quality instrument to begin
with)
If you do not live in the Cleveland, Ohio area, and you have any brass, woodwind, or stringed instrument in need of repair, you can get a free estimate from Independence Music repair depot. We will give you a full estimate, and let you know the cost of what the instrument needs to fix the major problems and make it playable. We will also give you an estimate to do those optional things to bring your musical instrument back to its fullest potential.
If you decide not to have us do the repair, we ship it back to you by UPS, and you only pay the cost of shipping and a $5 handling fee. Our certified musical instrument repair center depot will repair your brass, woodwind or string instrument for a fraction of the cost of a music store repair, and do a better job. We can promise this, because our repair technicians repair hundreds of instruments, and a typical music store might only do a few instrument repairs per month. Often music stores have high school students or music teachers doing repairs in the back room. If you take in an older flute, clarinet or saxophone, make sure the music store knows how to inspect for mites, a very common problem with older instruments that have been in storage.
We can also take in your instrument, check it out, tune you musical instrument if necessary, properly clean the instrument, and inspect it to see if there are any problems. This can be done for a nominal fee.
The Musical instruments we repair include:
Violin Repair - Cello Repair - Clarinet Repair
Saxophone Repair - Clarinet Repair -
Flute Repair
Drum Repair - Drum Head Replacement - Drum Tuning
Trumpet Repair - French Horn Repair - Trombone Repair - Tuba Repair
The standard in-store charge for putting new strings and tuning your string instrument is $5 plus the cost of the strings (starting at $5 for a set of guitar strings). We charge $5 to tune your stringed instrument, however you may need to leave it over night if we are busy. It is a good idea to ask your teacher to show you how to tune your own instrument during your lesson time. We sell a very good tuner that will make it very easy for you to keep your own instrument in tune.
